My name is Sarah Kulyk and I'm a graphic artist and illustrator from Vancouver, Canada. Since I was a child, art has been my passion and joy. I often work in saturated colours, in a number of different styles. When I'm not drawing, I enjoy working on costume design and playing video games.
I regularly work with contractors on different projects, many of them interactive games and applications. I am currently available for studio work, and am looking for a creative team to work with.
The quickest way to contact me is by email at sarah@jynxed.ca I can also be contacted over the phone or Skype, please email me for more information. Thanks!

webcomic
Girls Don’t Play Games ran from February 2009 to June 2010, and was a casual weekly webcomic I started to keep myself creatively sane, drawing regularly, and to practice my sequential art and writing. In order to maintain a full colour page each week I used a fun and cartoony style for the comics.
The characters and many of the events were autobiographical and discussed my day to day life and geeky interests ranging from gaming to costume design. Sometimes it was random, and sometimes not so good. Improving the script was an ongoing challenge.
Main characters- Jynx, Eve, Captain Morgan, Metalshit, Han, Ji & Ryan.

Isabelle is a short 3d animated film completed in my fourth year at Emily Carr University of Art + Design. The film was modeled and rendered in 3ds Max 9 and composited using Photoshop, After Effects and Premier. Isabelle draws inspiration from dolls and stop motion for design and animation style. Because of the abstract narrative and timeline, Isabelle's story seems vague at first. This was originally done in an attempt that the viewer might bring their own interpretations and story to the film as it progressed. Some scenes from the film remain undeveloped.
Original synopsis - Convinced that she is still alive; a young girl’s ghost remains trapped within her final resting place. Upon the visit of a familiar spirit, memories of Isabelle’s past are revealed, and she must come to terms with her own death.
This story may have been a bit ambitious for me at the time and remains only partially realized. I learned so much during this process though and was quite pleased with the final stylization.

development for Isabelle
Isabelle's character and design was first developed during grad film planning in 2007. At the time her story and character motivation was much different then that of her final version. Some things remained constant though, her age and physical appearance changed little during this process. My own red hair and green eyes being an influence on the later. This is also the reason that Isabelle resembles Jynx's so much from the webcomic: GDPG.
